Options and Solutions for California Rangelands

Please join us for presentations and discussions of the latest findings on water quality management in grazing livestock operations. The information presented will help livestock managers become the solution for water quality on California’s rangeland watersheds. Ranchers, representatives from technical and financial support agencies, resource agency staff, and anyone generally interested in water quality on rangelands is encouraged to attend.

Topics include: 

  • Rangeland soils, watersheds, and runoff generation                             
  • California rangeland stream water quality conditions           
  • Indicator bacteria, water borne pathogens, and practices to reduce their impacts to water quality
  • Grazing management practices for improving pasture and rangeland runoff water quality                         

Speakers include: 

  • E. Robert Atwill – Professor, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine
  • Randy A. Dahlgren  - Professor, UC Davis Land, Air, and Water Resources Department
  • Anthony O’Geen - Soil Specialist, UC Davis Land, Air, and Water Resources Department
  • Kenneth W. Tate  - Rangeland Hydrology Specialist, UC Davis Plant Sciences Department
